# remove_mailing_list_recipients

> Soft-remove recipients from a mailing list by email or external_id

Takes recipients off a list without erasing their history: they stop receiving release emails, and a later [`upsert_mailing_list_recipients`](/mcp/project/upsert-mailing-list-recipients) or the dashboard's Restore puts them back. Contacts who unsubscribed themselves are left alone and reported. Idempotent. The agent confirms the exact people with you before calling.

## Arguments

| `emails` | string\[] | Addresses to remove (case-insensitive) |
| `external_ids` | string\[] | Your ids to remove |

At least one of `emails` / `external_ids`; up to 1000 identifiers in total.
