# create_mailing_list

> Create a named mailing list in the project

Creates a mailing list. A project holds at most 20 lists and names are unique per project — a repeat call with the same name fails rather than duplicating. Fill the list with [`upsert_mailing_list_recipients`](/mcp/project/upsert-mailing-list-recipients) or the dashboard's CSV import.

## Arguments

| `name` | string | 1–100 characters, unique within the project |

## Returns

## Errors

* The project already has 20 lists, or the name is blank.
* A list with that name already exists.
